- Aquapharm® founded on the 11th April 2000
- 2002/2003: Secured a mixture of funding from the National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts (NESTA), the Scottish Executive and Business Angels
- 2004: Aquapharm® is the first company to locate to the European Centre for Marine Biotechnology, Dunstaffnage, Oban, Scotland
- 2005: The company secured its series ‘A’ funding of £1.25m from E-Synergy Ltd, NESTA and Argyll and the Islands (AIE) Enterprise
- 2006: Aquapharm® generating revenues from sales of its library and from collaborative projects totalling over £1m
- 2007: Aquapharm® secures its second round funding of £4m in a round led by new investors Aescap Venture Partners and Tate & Lyle Ventures
- 2007: CEO wins prestigious Gannochy Innovation Award
- 2008: Aquapharm® appoints Mr Douglas Thomson as Commercial Director and Professor Dr Axel Kleemann as Non Exec Director
- 2008: Aquapharm® signs its first license deal with Chirotech Technologies Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dr Reddy’s Plc
- 2008: CEO wins Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the year, Healthcare, Scotland
- 2008: Aquapharm® Croda International Plc Sign Three Year Research Collaboration Agreement
- 2009: Aquapharm® appoints Mr Steve Harris as new Chairman and Mr Sandy McDougall as Chief Financial Officer
- 2009: Aquapharm® appoints Mr Jon Williams as Business Development Director
- 2009: Aquapharm® appoints Dr Lloyd Payne as Research Director
- 2010: Aquapharm® appoints Prof Simon Best as new CEO and current CEO and founder Dr Andrew Mearns Spragg takes up the role of Chief Technical Officer
- 2010: Aquapharm® completes £4.2 million investment from existing investors Aescap Venture, Tate & Lyle Ventures, Highlands & Islands Enterprise and NESTA.
